Our layer Hens come in many varieties and are free to roam about the entire property without restriction. At night they are kept inside our hen house where they are safe from predators and pest. They are given the option while in the coop to enjoy the Non-GMO layer feed provided by Kraut Creek.

To prevent mites and other bug problems, chickens will dig small holes and dust themselves.

From arrival, the chickens are handled with care and provided with the occasional treat. Handling the chickens in this manner makes them friendly and trusting around other animals that aren't natural predators.
The Coop

At night the Chickens will naturally return to their home (the coop). This, provided with automatic doors and multiple layers of fencing prevents predators at night from causing any problems.

Our chickens are released daily to roam the entire property. this helps with bug control and gives them the freedom to enjoy life as they provide many eggs throughout the years.

Each evening, we collect the eggs that have been laid in the layer boxes. Sometimes you find eggs in random places throughout the day.Â
